Powder, Shredding, and Skiing

Two weeks ago, my friend Tracy and I packed up our winter gear and set off for LGA to fly to DEN for a weekend in Vail, Colorado. We were meeting friends from all over the USA there for a long weekend of hitting the slopes and watching football.
Just getting to Denver was an ordeal and an adventure in itself. Our flight was supposed to land at 8 PM in Denver, but due to a ton of United Airline issues, we didn’t actually arrive in Denver until 1 AM! My friend Preeti arrived in Denver earlier that night and Tracy and I met her at the hotel.

The next day, Tracy, Preeti and I drove the 90 minutes to Vail where we met a bunch of friends who flew or drove in from Baltimore, Phoenix, and Denver. We kicked off the evening at the surprisingly hoppin Vail Marriot Resort Lounge with happy hour and ended up that night at the Red Lion (a.k.a. The Cougar Den) for dinner and after dinner drinks. I had a great time at the Cougar! The food was tasty (think your typical burgers, tacos, sandwiches and fries) and the overall atmosphere was lively and crowded.

The owner of the bar actually was the lead singer of the cover band that was playing. He was awesome! He had sort of a mullet and a great voice and sang Journey, Eddie Money, Bon Jovi and the Outfield all night long. Myron and I spent the night dancing away while the rest of the boys spent their time Cougar Hunting.

The highlight of the trip though, was out on the slopes. Saturday, Preeti, my college friend Jen and I took a snowboarding lessoon and shredded the day away on the powder that had fallen the night before.

Sunday, I spent the day skiing with Myron, Tracy, and Eddie Money.

It was my first time in Vail and I had a great time. Tracy is back again this weekend and I’m totally jealous.
